Covid 19 has created a devastating impact on the entire world. The pandemic has created havoc for everyone, many lost their loved ones, many lost their jobs and livelihood, and many lost their mental peace. The pandemic not only dented our healthcare system but also destroyed many lives.
When the COVID-19 outbreak swept the world, we quickly responded with our COVID-19 relief initiative. Under this initiative, we distributed 15000+ ration kits to beneficiaries in slums, tribal and remote areas across India. As a result of the disruption and loss of livelihood, along with the unavailability of basic necessities, hunger was like another pandemic affecting the human population. At Shiksha Seva Foundation, we analyzed the urgency and gravity of the situation and developed our ration kits. These kits were distributed to at-risk communities along with the ones in need. We distributed this ration kit to eliminate hunger and help communities battling with a separate pandemic.
How Shiksha Seva Supported during Covid-19 Pandemic
15,000+ Dry Ration Kits Distributed To combat critical food shortages during sudden lockdowns, our ground teams successfully packed and delivered over 15,000 comprehensive dry ration kits. Each kit was structured to sustain a family of five for an entire month, totaling over 65,000 individual lives impacted. These kits contained essential nutritional staples, including rice and wheat flour, along with pulses, cooking oil, and immunity-boosting spices, prioritizing daily wage laborers and tribal areas.
45,000+ Hygiene & Safety Essentials Provided Recognizing that nutrition was only half the battle, we integrated healthcare defense into our relief camps. Shiksha Seva distributed a total of 30,000+ medical-grade masks and 15,000+ bottles of sanitizers and antibacterial soaps. Alongside these provisions, our volunteers conducted over 120 socially distanced community awareness sessions across remote regions, educating families on sanitization practices to effectively curb the spread of the virus
